4:31a Two things #1: Where can I find a DVD copy of the movie Waiting (Ryan Reyolds, Dane Cook, Justin Long) for sale? Preferably a used/cheap copy, but a new one is better than nothing. I'm central but will go up north/east. #2: What's the best way to get to the Security Office at Austin-Bergstrom? I'm starting a job there and have no idea how to get around (let alone park). Any tips or instructions? TIA

1:34a Carpets for camping? Dear Resourceful LJ Cohorts, Please forgive the cross-post. Does anyone have a line on any carpets or rugs that I could use outdoors or in a tent? Even small ones would be appreciated. Ideally I'd like to borrow them (I don't have a lot of discretionary money and I don't have anywhere to store them) but would be willing to buy them if they were cheap. I understand that I can get carpet remnants inexpensively but I'm not sure where to look. Anyone have any tips? Thank you!

11:03p Honky tonkin' squirrel killer I went out a honky tonkin' last night with my friend T.J., it was fun and I met a lot of nice people. Problem is, I don't know how to two-step. I guess I'd better learn soon, what I need is a nice girl to teach me how. They wanted to teach me last night but I was too shy.  I had fun talking with T.J.'s step-dad. He used to be a drummer, and used to play for country bands all over Texas and Oklahoma. In other news, I'm an evil squirrel slayer. Our neighbor has this one squirrel who was getting into his attic, so he asked me to shoot it. I spent a few hours working the scope on my pellet-rifle, getting it as accurate as I could. I got to where I could hit the mark every time from about fifty yards. Well, a couple days ago I got the little sucker right in the noggin'. Kinda feel bad about it, but he had become a pest, and I was only doing what our neighbor asked me to do. So like, don't be mad at me, he's in a better place now. current mood: devious current music: "What hurts the most"-Rascal Flatts

9:53p Hmm Well, I went to the Big Easy for tonight's event. I though I'd give it a try ... See how well I could handle the masses (I mean people.. The masses can be well handled *wink*). I lasted just about two hours (seemingly my average nowadays for being out in public). The people I did know, it was good to catch up on. As a bonus, this was Gyda's first event. She liked it and is willing to go again. Best wishes to Allison on her journey! (Ps, I hope to win the grand prize!)

10:30p Converting .aa files to mp3s? I have Leopard 10.5.2 I'm looking for something that will convert .aa files to mp3s? I've browsed the internet, tried a few trial versions, purchased DRM Converter, only to find out it wont convert anything over an hour long, so I need some help. Preferably something that will convert it right onto my hard drive and not need a CD-R (I think that's what's causing the hour-limit on DRM Converter, which wont even work with a virtual cd-r) Any recommendations would be appreciated!

9:19p Austin tourism My husband and I have lived in Pflugerville for three years, but thanks to not knowing many people, living in the suburbs, and generally being homebodies much of the time, we've never done a lot of the touristy or Austin-unique activities around here. We're planning some vacation time around our anniversary but since gas prices are astronomical and we don't have a lot of cash we were thinking about having a vacation at home and experiencing everything Austin has to offer in the span of about a week. ;) So, if you had a week to experience Austin, what would be on your must-see/must-do list?? Some ideas we've had so far: * Tubing down the Guadalupe (I still cannot believe we haven't done this yet...pathetic!) * Taking an Austin segway tour. * Touring the capitol (we've been before but not since we moved here) * Seeing the bats! (again we've done this but not recently) Yeah, I'm not too creative with this stuff because I honestly don't know any better. Ha ha. We're not too huge on local music, but could be persuaded to venture out if you know of a place with GOOD rock music (i.e. no scrEMO or weird hippy stuff). We both went to Baylor so we don't really care about UT. I'm pretty active, he's not, but thing like hiking or camping aren't out of the question. So, what are some of your favorite things to do for a couple of boring married 20-somethings to experience and appreciate Austin to its fullest?? Restaurants, sight-seeing, clubs, local anything, things that I can't even imagine. current mood: tired

6:43p Recycling Does anyone know where to go to recycle newspapers? I've tried the net, but am not very or something, haven't been able to find where they deal with newspapers. I don't have a whole lot of it, I just would rather recycle it than toss it. Thanks! current mood: curious
