Cougar 1

We're all in this together.

"City folks" have a tendancy to view people from rural areas as, well, hicks. And by "city folks" I mean pretty much everyone who doesn't live someplace where everyone knows everyone else's business.

Rural folks are supposed to be relatively unsophisticated, and of course they're supposed to be for the war. Clearly they all have a mentality of "fuck the towel-heads!"

All of this makes this article rather surprising. I doubt any city newspaper would have dedicated anywhere near that much ink to a soldiers funeral. I also doubt it would have been anywhere near as well-written.

The accompanying photo-essay is likewise nothing short of spectacular.

So, next time you hear someone ranting about the "red necks" and their "ass-backward view of the world", you might remind them that we all weep the same tears and bleed the same blood. We're all in this together.
