Beware Belgian bartenders bearing beer...

One of the facits of travelling alone is that you tend to spend a fair amount of time in the hotel bar (or at least I do...) This trip has been no exception, though thanks to the hospitality of my Belgian coworkers I've only closed out the bar a few nights.

Anyway, I was down there last night again, talking with Sean, and he mentioned some places I should check out for beer. Then he offered to drive me to one last night.

So we went back to his place and picked up his girlfriend. Turns out they were late for meeting a friend of hers that's heading to Quebec for like a year, so we didn't make it to the bar he'd been talking about, heading to what was more like a night club instead.

Apparently, one of the games they play at this night club is "make sure the American always has at least 2 beers", because it was non-stop drinking for me as soon as I got there. Normally this wouldn't have been much of an issue, except I was drinking Chimay's Tripple, which is about 10%.

After 4 Chimays, a shot of very good vodka at Sean's apartment, and a few beers at the hotel bar before that... well, I've seen better days...

At least this is only the second time I've puked on the car of someone I just met...

And now I'm actually at a different hotel, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it back to thank him while I'm sober.
